The Diocese of the Rio Grande is pleased to have a united Community of Deacons.

Mission Statement of the Community of Deacons

The mission of the Community of Deacons in the Diocese of the Rio Grande is to assist in the sharing of the gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ, to interpret the needs, concerns and hopes of the world, to assist in public worship in the ministration of the Word and Sacraments, and to show that by serving those less fortunate we are serving Christ. All ordained deacons in the Diocese of the Rio Grande that are under the supervision of the Bishop, constitute the Community of Deacons.
